The good taste of choice

The existence is like this, about intersections. Most of our life is entrusted to the appropriate choice: it requires good taste and sound judgment as to where not enough neither the study nor the talent. There can be no perfection where there is no choice: it has the dual advantage, being able to choose, and to choose the best.
The real choice is never between doing something or not doing it. But between do it or keep it for courage or fear. When making a choice, you change the future, change the cards on the table. Many men of fruitful and subtle genius, keen judgment, scholars and well informed, when they arrive at the moment of choice, are lost.
But when, one day, you'll find yourself in front of that junction, you already know that you will lose something. There is no choice that does not result in a loss. So this ability to choose well is one of the greatest gifts of heaven.

Princess goes to the country

"It is not easy to walk alone in the countryside, without meditating on something." C. Dickens

We always run away from something. Even if escape is never the answer to our problems.
Sometimes I am pervaded by the desire to escape from the city, from its noises, its hectic and stressful life, to hole up for a few hours in the hills or in the country, to listen in silence interrupted only the sounds of nature. That silence, broken by the roar in the background of a stream or by the chirping of birds, in which the brain is free to roam to the best shores.
That place where you breathe again, savoring every "step" of that complex biochemical process. Feeling the air entering the body, nourishing cells and tissues, to cross it completely. Stopping to hear those beats punctuated by heart that sometimes is felt "strongly" to remind us that, after all, is always there with us. Even when we forget it.
Nature always is the cure, with her calming effect. A peace for the senses and the soul.
The simplicity of small things is the cure for all evil, seize them in all their beauty and know how to appreciate it helps us to measure everything biggest that can happen.

Another day. Another choice. Another coat.

That life is made of choices is known to all, and in this there is nothing revolutionary or special. We are forced to make choices every day, since we are small. Some consciously, others unconsciously. We spend most of our time to choose. From when we wake up, we are constantly faced with the crossroads, having to choose between the usual breakfast biscuits or Galletti, with those grains of sugar that, soaked in milk, become irresistible. In front of the wardrobe, in the eternal indecision of that secular phrase, "What do I wear?". And then lipstick, red or pink? The perfume, handbag etc. And these are all crap.
Yet we are subject to this continuous cycle of changes that life offers us and we have to face.
We make sure that life turns around to our needs and we get angry every time someone decides for us forcing choices that we do not share.
All the choices that we do not take,  determine a turning point in our lives. But if we could follow people that we were not? If we could tag along them, and then above all listen, talk together, invite them to dinner, what would really happen?
Choose is not only bound to figure out what we need and make sure to get it, it is also, and above all, linked to the fact to understand and choose the people we want to be and who we want to become.
It's only when you know what you want that you do not take everything that passes. So then life upsets you the plans the same.

Telephone Box

There was a time, not so long ago, when making calls were not used cell phones.
There were no cell phones, the ringing of the "I think about you" or "I'm here, come down," the text message to the mother to say "I came," and even whatsapp conversations, often meaningless and also endless.
The phones there were but only in homes, hey had the wheel and had to wait for it complimented back around before making the other number.
In reality outside the home and on the road you could call. It was done by telephone boxes, for which, at least until the mid 80s, served as the token.
The problem arose when we had to change because no one knew what would last the call. There it was a little to the feeling, depending on the call. Depending on the person. To avoid ending the token at the climax.
It was not  the time of ringtones and mobile phones. At that time one entered in the telephone box that seemed confessional and guardians of some secret.
They were containers of distances, whispered loves, families apart.
I have not lived but were different times, the best. Times where those seconds, minutes, hours spent attached to the handset knew excite. The calls had a different flavor. Sweet, like the words of two people apart, with a little bitter aftertaste that due to waiting for the next call.
Not like now that every 3x2 comes a "BIP" that brings with it hearts, TVB, TAT, TV1KDB.
I want a K of that ?? But the simplicity where is it? And the values? Those true and sincere, attributed to everything? Dead. Buried. Like thelephone boxes, which to take me two photos, I was going to buy a plane ticket to London! And the thing I would have liked.
